The room was like a cozy den, with warm colors and soft pillows. It made me feel right at home and relaxed.
Personally, I found the shared bathrooms a bit cramped, but others might not mind.

A perfect introduction to those wanting a taste of horse riding at Kowhai Riding School nearby. The friendly staff not only provided excellent riding lessons for the kids but also offered other entertainment options to keep them engaged. It was a wonderful experience for the whole family, filled with outdoor activities and adventure.
For dads, it would be great to have more family-friendly dining options available nearby.

We stopped at Queenette Backpackers as a pit-stop on our journey elsewhere. We had no expectations, just needed a bed for the night, but were pleasantly surprised. The place was new, clean, and spacious, with modern amenities and a home-like atmosphere. The hosts, Bin and Ying, were friendly and gave us a tour. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the living area had comfortable furnishings. The washroom was disability-accessible, and there was a lovely outdoor seating area. It felt like our own private space, and the prices were reasonable!
Would recommend this hotel.

We were completely blown away by our stay at this amazing hostel! The cleanliness and modernity of the facilities were mind-blowing. The rooms were small but utilized space incredibly well, with lamps and charging stations for each bed. The showers were fantastic, with hot water and great pressure. The well-equipped kitchen had everything we needed and the cozy living area had plenty of information on local attractions. The owners/staff were so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The personal touches, like fresh flowers and candy, made us feel so welcome. The disability-accessible washroom, washer/dryer, and outdoor seating area were jaw-dropping bonuses. The hosts were always available, even after hours, and the convenience of their dairy shop was super. This place was luxurious and suitable for all types of travelers, with reasonable prices. We can't thank the hosts enough for their incredible hospitality. From the off-street parking to the convenient location near supermarkets, everything was perfect. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay!

The room at Oxford Queenette Backpackers was a cozy haven with sweet, artsy decor. As a laid-back traveler, I loved the chilled-out vibes and comfy bed!
Personally, I found the shared commercial kitchen a bit cramped for my taste. Others might totally dig it though!

The location was totally rad with so many sick activities nearby. We hit up the Waimakariri Gorge Golf Course and gave golfing a shot. It was super cool to be surrounded by nature while swingin' those clubs. And let me tell you, horse riding at Kowhai Residential School of Riding was like straight out of a movie. We felt like real cowboys and cowgirls, yeehaw! our vacation was the bomb dot com with all the awesome adventures we had.
If I had to ask for one thing, it would be more happening nightlife in the area. We were looking to party it up and have some crazy fun, but there weren't many options for young party-goers.

The hostel had a good kitchen with lots of cookware and cutlery. It was also clean and the showers had good pressure.
The bunk beds were too close to the ceiling for comfort. My friend had to sleep on the couch instead.
